A couple weeks later, Milo bust his head open on our coffee table. The same coffee table that gave Dahlia stitches last Spring. It was a terrifying experience due to all the blood and the fact that the gash was so deep. I was home alone with the kids so I had to call 911 because I couldn't drive him to the ER while trying to stop the blood at the same time. It was awful.
But these two kiddos made a hard month easier. I will never forget the way Dahlia sprinted into her room after the break-in, frantically searching through her basket of Barbie clothes to see if any of it was stolen. And Milo's spunky self, entertained by "turkeys" we made with latex gloves made our afternoon at the ER bearable. And when the plastic surgeon finally walked into the room to meet us, he shook my hand introducing himself, then shook Matt's. Milo was laying on the bed, looking worried, but he surprised us, including the doctor, by getting up and putting his hand out to get shaken, too.
Plus they do amazing things everyday. And Tita and Tito's help hasn't hurt either. That being said, I am looking forward to a peaceful, uneventful April.
I like this video because it erases the scary, uneasy moments and replaces them with my funny boy moments.

What troopers! I hope you have a very peaceful April! xox
