Weekend in Inverness

Slumber party!
 First time at the beach!
Our hot tub time machine transported us to prettiness and relaxation
Gorgeous flowers blooming in the yard made for a great place to dry off

Baby boys just chillin' while everyone packs up to leave
 Our biker chic
Sand, water, a few plastic items = fun for hours

A couple weekends ago we had a mini vacation with some friends in Inverness, California. Our friends Jessica and Erik and their daughter, Sophia, along with Adam and Yve and their kids Tula and Jude all shared an awesome house in the hills for a super fun time. Highlights were the little girls sleeping together in a queen sized bed, hot tub time, a bike hike to the beach, wildflowers everywhere and in general just happy people having a relaxing weekend. Dahlia has never shared a bed with anyone other than us and it was a true experiment to see how it'd work with the girls. After a couple books, we turned out the lights, shut their door, and waited to see what would happen. We're pretty sure we heard them out of the bed at one point and lots of giggling at other points, but in the end all three girls were asleep. In the morning, Matt and I listened as they woke and started chatting about Goldilox and the three bears, monkeys jumping on the bed, and potential a potential ice cream party. It was so sweet listening to how their conversation flowed.

Dahlia proved herself to be a great little hiker and bike hiker. It was a 1 mile hike to the beach and she biked, walked or jogged the whole way there and back. On our way home when we stopped for dinner, she ate about 2 pounds of rice and beans.  I guess she worked up an appetite.
