I did a little journaling of Dahlia's storytelling this morning. She always wants me to make up stories of pictures but this morning I asked her to tell me the story of her sticker story. Here's what she told me, word for word.
The elephant is drinking water. Another elephant is drinking
water. It’s taking a bath but not standing up. It needs to go up in this tree so
it can be really safe. It has to be really safe from this crocodile. It’s gotta
go up up up up up up and down down down. The zebra goes on the ground and eats
some grass just like the giraffe. It eats grass but not the tree. The other
zebra is going to give it as kiss. Muah! It can’t eat. It can only stand up.
Look it can stand up. So why does the elephant have to be up up up in the tree
when the alligator is on the other page? It doesn’t. So it’s getting down. (In
singing voice, Elephant to zebra): Will you walk with me? Will you walk with me? Will you walk
with me? I’m so sorry! I’m so sorry! I don’t want to be sorry! I don’t want to
be sorry! I don't want to walk with the zebra! (End singing voice). The elephant doesn’t want to walk with the zebra. That's it.
