Milo Started School!
Milo started school this week for the summer session at the school he'll go in September. It went pretty well. He'd been a bit anxious about it whenever we talked about it the past week even with Dahlia's super pep-talks trying to get him excited (he's never been dropped off somewhere and left without his sister). Dahlia and I went to drop him off together and he was instantly distracted by all the fun things going on--toys, play doh, paint. When we left he told us he didn't want us to leave but he didn't protest much. When we returned 3 hours later, he seemed fine for a second and then he burst out crying very hard for about 3 minutes. It was heart wrenching. He seemed overwhelmed with the whole thing and glorious toddler that he is, he was very distraught that my hair was up in a pony (rather than down like it was when I dropped him off). When I took my hair out of my ponytail, all was better. The teachers reported he had a great day until about 10 minutes before pickup he started crying saying, "I want my mama." But all afternoon he talked about it fondly and with excitement, as seen briefly in video. A cool factoid to mention is I realized today that Milo is currently the exact age that Dahila was when Milo was born.
