Dahlia, Kaylee and Avi's Playdate

Why is it so much fun to set our babies up and take pictures of them even when they are not very happy about it? Yesterday Dahlia and I went to Petaluma to visit my friend Heather and her one month old baby, Kaylee. Holly and Avi came, too. So did Colleen and her 38 weeks pregnant belly. It was a great day of lunch, babies, and laughing at our cute babies. Heather made a Smilebox album of the day that's super cute and will hopefully work if I try posting it here on our blog.

I think it'll work if you copy and paste the link below in a new window.

Slideshow Dahlia vol. 7

There hasn't been a slide show in a little while. Here's the latest of our camera. I've put captions on lots of the pics, if you're interested.

Dahlia Does Squaw Valley USA

This is Holly, Avi, Dahlia and me in Tahoe over the weekend. We stayed at Matt's boss' condo in Truckee. Dahlia went snowboarding. No she didn't. But we did. We bought one lift ticket and Matt shredded it up in the morning and I rode in the afternoon. Dahlia liked her snowsuit. We had a really nice time being away from home and being social with other grown ups. Besides the Grossmans, there were 5 other adults and one dog in the condo. We ate well--each couple was responsible for one meal while we were there--and Dahlia and Avi had some quality time getting to know each other better.

Dahlia and Avi Chill Out

After a tasty meal of yummy breast milk, Dahlia and Avi needed some chill time. So that's what they did.

I love this pic! Avi looks like such a little man protecting his little lady. And even their big toes look happy.

Dahlia Gets a Massage

Last week I learned how to give my little bambina a massage. My friend Holly hosted an event at her house where a massage therapist came and taught a bunch of mommies how to give an infant massage. We started out with the legs and feet and Dahlia loved that. But by the time we moved on to tummies, she was ready to eat and then sleep. So for the remainder of the class, I just watched and Dahlia did her thing. But since then, she's had plenty of massages. She likes the belly ones the best because they help her tummy troubles. She's happy about that for sure. And every evening she gets a foot massage to help her little feet warm up. I've also taught Daddy how to do it, too. Lucky Dahlia! Oh, to get a massage every day...

Dahlia's Great Weekend

Dahlia would like to share all the wonderful things about her weekend. First off, she's feeling very mature now that she is one month old. You'll see she was proving that maturity with some of the events of her weekend. It started off Friday afternoon when her daddy came home from work around 2pm and didn't go back to work until Monday morning. They got to reconnect all weekend long after his week back at work. She really liked that. She had a visitor on Saturday, Adrian, who brought pizza and helped Dahlia take her midday nap. Saturday evening she got to ride in her car seat, which she really likes, all the way to San Francisco to her Tio and Tia's apartment. There she got to hang out with her new buddy, Avi, son of our friends Holly and Joel. Avi is 5 days younger than Dahlia. You'll see the excitement of that event in the slide show. Note Dahlia's interest in Avi and Avi's supposed disinterest in her. We know he was secretly enjoying himself. He was just playing it cool, like a guy does. After her social evening, Dahlia really impressed herself and her parents. She slept from 1am until 7:30am without waking up! It was truly amazing. 6.5 hours of straight sleep might not sound like a lot, but I haven't had that since probably month 6 of my pregnancy. The next day, Dahlia benefited from her parents figuring out how to make her bath more enjoyable: eat lots of milk, feel satisfied and drunk on milk, then bathe. She LOVED it! She was so happy splashing around in the warm, womb-like water. Then she had more visitors, Sam and Tiffany, followed by a trip to her abuelitos. Wow! She's practically a grown up. We're very proud of her.

This slideshow, Dahlia vol. 4 includes many of these events from her weekend, as well as other parts of her "I'm one month old" week. Today she's actually 5 weeks old, and weighed in at 9 lbs, 3 oz on her personal scale.
