Even though D is a relatively cautious girl and pretty coordinated, she isn't done with getting injured. Last Wednesday, Tita, Milo, and Dahlia went to Hap McGee Park in Danville and Dahlia took a spill dismounting off a tall tunnel slide. She landed on all fours and Tita immediately saw she'd broken her arm. They rushed to the ER, met Tito there, and Matt and I got there from work quickly thereafter. All things considered, Dahlia was very brave and a real trooper. She didn't get any morphine for at least 30 minutes and looking at that arm, it must have been excruciating. She had to get an IV which scared her tons, then morphine, then ketamine (a crazy sedative), so they could set her arm back in place. With perspective we know this is not a serious injury and that it happens all the time. But having our baby in pain, and then the drugs that helped her but made her not herself, and doctors with the less-than-stellar bedside manner was a terrible afternoon. The cool thing is that kids are so resilient and after 24 hours, she was basically completely fine and now hardly lets the cast get her down. She told us that when we were at the ER Matt and I had 4 nostrils and 4 eyes and that it was funny. She's sad about not swimming and sad about not riding her bike. But she doesn't dwell on it like I feel I would. She just moves on and finds something else to do. Let's hope the next 6 weeks are not much different.

| The admitting nurse gave Dahlia this tiger. Tiger helped her through the ordeal tons. |
| Getting X-rays done after the cast. The x-rays have been essential in helping Dahlia understand what happened to her body. She loves them. |
| Before and After. Ouch. |
| Milo copying Dahlia by propping his arm on a pillow, too. |
| Thankfully it was her left arm, and she's right handed. Painting is still IN. |
