Stitches
Our latest milestone: stitches. Dahlia was bouncing around playing and then slipped and cut her chin on the edge of the coffee table. It didn't bleed too much, though she bit her tongue when it happened and that bled quite a bit. But the cut was in an unfortunate place that stretched open as she moved around and we were advised by more experienced folk (one of which was Grandma who once had a little boy named Matthew with this same injury about 30 years ago) to get it checked out. Too bad it was already 7:30pm, D's bedtime.
Dahlia and I arrived at the ER at 8pm and got home at 11:30pm. In between that time Dahlia was super brave as we waited forever and even more brave when she got her 3 stitches. I could tell she was trying (unsuccessfully) not to cry which was perhaps more heartbreaking than if she had been screaming her eyes out. It is so hard to watch your baby be so scared. But the stitches are now already out, it's healing great, and Dahlia has scar developing that matches her Daddy. Glad that's over.

I am looking at the top picture and just want to give her a big kiss!! And, if she had to match her daddy...better her chin than her forehead :-) xoxo
