Milo meets Thomas Jefferson.

At the Jefferson Memorial. Dahlia calls it "Thomas D.C." We thought that was pretty cool.
Dahlia didn't want her picture taken.

Marveling at the abundance of pink cherry blossoms.

More blossoms
Pretty views

Dahlia's "reward" for not kicking the seat in front of her on the airplane was to get a toy at the zoo. Auntie pitched in and Dahlia went panda crazy--bracelet, mask, and ears.

Checking out the gibbons at the zoo. Well, Dahlia is. Milo's mostly checking out his cool big sis.

Family shot, sans Auntie.
We had a big trip to Washington DC this past week. It was Milo's first time flying and our first time in DC as a family of four. Milo did great on the flights-ate, slept, pooped, repeat. Dahlia is easy now that she can stay tuned to videos--hours of Dora and Mary Poppins. So it was the first time in a long time that I just sat for five hours and didn't get asked to do much of anything. If only I didn't hate flying, it would've almost been relaxing.
Auntie gave up her great, little, apartment so we could try to fit comfortably. She stayed at Reiss' place and we took over her place with her shepdog, Moxie. It's a great location so we took walks and had restaurants and good coffee just steps away. Dahlia had mixed feelings about the idea--she loved being on vacation but didn't love Moxie taking over her bed and kissing her (very slobbery) in the middle of the night.
Matt had to work for a couple days--though it was hardly work for him because he loved it--at a bike share conference. Besides our children, Bike Share is Matt's biggest obsession right now. So we spent a lot of time being excited about everything having to do with Bike Share. Thankfully, we all agree it is pretty cool stuff. Auntie took off work for those days and we did the cherry blossoms (in full bloom) and zoo without him. Then Grandma and Grandpa arrived and we all headed to Reiss' sister's house for a big ole' pizza party where the families all met for the first time. Reiss' nephew is 4, so he and Dahlia had a blast together. We all had a nice time.
We also visited the Natural History Museum with cousins Howie, Jamie, and Molly, got to hang with our good friend, Eliza, and celebrated Passover for the first time with Dahlia. She didn't have much patience for the seder but it was still really nice and Auntie is definitely the hostess with the mostess. Dahlia also spent a couple nights at the hotel with Grandma and Grandpa--she's very cosmopolitan that way--and got to go swimming there.
We had a great time. Looking forward to our next visit! Hope Auntie will have us!!! :)
