Three year old Dahlia is a lot of fun. What are you like as you are starting another year? Well let's see. You are into performing arts--you love to dance, sing and play music. I love when I see you dancing like you don't even know you're doing it--like in the car when I blast music to calm down Milo, I'll look at you and you'll be bobbing your head and swaying to some classic rock or random pop tune. Your teachers at school are always telling me what a little performer you are. I don't know where you get that from but we're going with it. Nature/nurture is so interesting in that respect.
You only wear "pretty dresses" unless we can convince you to wear jeans using a very strategic campaign that often has to begin hours before you get dressed. The cool thing is you still don't really realize boys don't wear dresses and sometimes you'll comment that Milo can wear your dresses when he gets bigger. You're very excited about sharing your clothes with him. When you get to school every morning, usually the first thing you do is find an adult (teacher or familiar parent)and go up to them and say, "look at my pretty dress." You judge dresses by how well they spin and by how poofy they are and always comment when you see other little girls wearing dresses you like. Apparently your auntie would also only wear dresses until she was in first grade, so we're prepared for this to last a long time.
I could go on and on about you but to keep things brief, you also love (in no particular order) your family, burritos, Riley, riding bikes, Boo Bunny, reading, Dora, school, snuggling in our bed in the middle of the night and/or morning, going to the park, celebrating people's birthdays, and playing dress up.
We love you so much, Miss Rae. We are very proud of the person you are becoming. Happy Birthday!
