5 Days Shy of 14 Months

Little Miss Dahlia Rae is almost 14 months old! She is continuing to use her sign language to communicate: she tells us when she's hungry, when she wants milk, when she wants to listen to music, and she signs please and more. Other words she enjoys using throughout the day: bird, fish, bib, ball, sleepy, moon, book, dog, kitty, elephant, hat, hair clip, flower, duck, dance, apple, banana, toothbrush, bath, camera, phone. She loves using her signs and I really can't imagine what it would be like if she didn't know how to easily communicate these things that make her so happy.

She has 4 words in her speaking vocabulary: baby, mama, dada, duck. Her favorite is baby. She says it whenever she sees one or sees pictures of herself.

Other activities she enjoys: closing doors, hiding behind things to play peekaboo, playing piano, climbing onto chairs, filling bags, buckets or bowls with items, smelling flowers, reading, playing outside, playing in the sand, listening to Pandora radio and dancing, and watching Yo Gabba Gabba on tv--don't worry, only about 10 minutes a day. She also is eating well and is not as picky as she used to be.

She sleeps through the night (7pm to 7am) about 5 nights a week! This makes for happy parents. She's been sick this past week, which makes for sad parents. But we think she's almost all better. She weighs 21 lbs, 3 oz.
